What is it?

The Zendesk chatbot is a computer program that interacts with your customers via chat messages. It will appear as a small chat icon on the right side of your site. When a user clicks on it a chat conversation window will appear.

There the user can write messages. You will be able to answer and see all the messages from the users. The chat itself and all available functionalities are provided by zendesk.com.
